Blood transfusions for dogs ...?

No, this is not very commonly done in animals. Less than 1% of dogs will get a transfusion during their life, in part because there is no standard donor pool like there is for humans. Having said that, 99% of dogs do fine with a transfusion. The bigger issue is the underlying disease that is causing the anemia. This needs to be addressed aggressively.
