I have a question about Tin?

Ok so I'm doing a project for school about the element Tin (Sn) and I have a question. So I've done some research and I've come to the knowledge that Tin doesn't rust, doesn't rust quickly, or doesn't react with moisture (tell me which one is more accurate). But in the movie/book The Wizard of Oz the Tin Woodsman rusts. Is it an accurate statement to say that the movie/book was wrong because Tin doesn't rust? Thanks!
