I live in the country and cant get high speed internet, any alternitives?

i am sick of dial up! my internet provider says i cant get high speed where i live, and hughs net is to expensive, too expensive for highspeed through dish too. the laptop connect card is $100, then $60 a month, is there anything out there that can give me highspeed? i miss youtube. and downloading is a nightmare, it took me 5 hours to download yahoo messanger! someone please help me!
